Last year Matador and the media outlet Carryology collaborated on a limited edition series of bags, called the EDX line. Due to the success of that drop, we got together with Carryology again to refresh that line and do a second drop. I was tasked with facelifting the original EDX backpack on an expedited schedule. We pitched this content to the Carryology team late last November, and eight months later the bag launched - and sold out in 47 minutes.

THE WORK WASN’T DONE QUITE YET. TYPICALLY, CARRYOLOGY COMMISHIONS AN ILLUSTRATOR TO CREATE A ONE-OF-A-KIND PATCH TO ACCOMPANY THE COLLABORATION. DUE TO TIGHT TIMELINES - THAT RESPONSIBILITY FELL ON MY SHOULDERS. THIS WAS AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY TO INTEGRATE AI INTO THE PROCESS, AND REFINE THE CONCEPT INTO SOMETHING SPECIAL.
